Analogy in formal grammar

This dissertation presents a model for capturing analogy (analogical classifiers) in terms of inheritance hierarchies and constraints. I show that results from computational models closely match the theoretical analyses. The result is that analogy can be modeled in terms of the same objects as other grammar components. This allows for seamless integration of analogical systems into theories like HPSG or SBCG.
