May 2018

The linker introduces (“links”) a variety of expressions into the verb phrase. These include locatives, the second object of a double object construction, the second object of a causative construction, instruments, subject matter arguments and adverbs of various types (locative, manner, temporal). In some non-Central Khoisan languages, the linker even introduces the agent in the passive. The purpose of this volume is to explore the linker in the non-Central Khoisan languages.
